Ah, the wonderful things that come as a result of the french and the italian working together.

I imagine the SM being like nothing else. And the BMW roughly similar to other fast coupe's of the day.
So, the SM it is.

One of the cars that showed the world what German engineering was capable of, or a French car that got better MPG of gasoline than oil leaked? Are you *really* asking that? BMW 3.0 CS all the way. :D

I am, and it would appear several people prefer the Exxon Valdeez.

Oh crap, a flat tire! Let me just unbolt half the body panels on the rear end on the side of the freeway to fix it... :)
Not entirely serious, but not entirely fictitious.

Actually, it's funny you should mention that, because self-leveling suspension=any tire is a run-flat. Just ask Charles De Gaulle.
But yeah, I get it. This is not a car for an amateur to maintain. Personally, I adore both of them.

Another good one would be, "Oh, you need to put on license plates? Well then you'll just have to take off the front clip of the car."

Oooh, that's a bastardy one. If I can't have both, I'm going SM, because if I had a CS I'd always be aware it wasn't a Batmobile.

Am I the only one who prefers this to the Batmobile?

Can I opt out and say 1975 Jaguar XJ12C instead?

OK. The BMW, then. Because it stands an off chance of working on occasion.
How about we split the difference and I go with a Lancia Gamma coupe instead?

Okay fine. Because it stands an off-chance of working on occasion.
Oh wait...
